Location and boundaries

Rossmoyne is bounded by the Canning River in the north and west, Fifth Avenue, Ionic Street, Denise Close, Michael Court, Koolan Drive, Houtmans Street and Fifth Avenue in the east, and the Leach Highway, Karel Avenue, Keith Road and the Leach Highway in the south.

Settlement history

Settlement of the area dates from the mid 1800s, with land used mainly for farming. Population was minimal until the late 1800s. Significant development did not occur until the 1950s, with rapid growth from the late 1960s. The population increased gradually from the mid 1990s, largely a result of new dwellings being added to the area.
