Lynwood is bounded by Metcalfe Road in the north and west, Nicholson Road in the east, and High Road in the south.

Settlement history

Settlement of the area dates from 1832 when the first land grant was made. Population was minimal until the late 1800s. Rapid growth took place during the 1960s and 1970s. The population generally declined slightly between 1991 and 2006, a result of little change in dwelling stock and a decline in the average number of persons living in each dwelling. The population increased slightly between 2006 and 2011 as new dwellings were added to the area.
