Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Ashburton in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (359 males or 17.6%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services (182 males or 8.9%)
  • Construction (163 males or 8.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 704 males in total or 34.5% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, the City of Boroondara employed 17.8% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 8.4% in Financial and Insurance Services; and 8.4% in Construction.
