Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Kew in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (1,129 males or 17.4%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (794 males or 12.2%)
  • Construction (566 males or 8.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,489 males in total or 38.4% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Deepdene employed 16.5% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 12.9% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 6.7% in Construction.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Kew and Deepdene were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in construction (8.7% compared to 6.7%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in arts and recreation services (2.4% compared to 0.9%)
