Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Kew East in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (406 females or 23.3%)
  • Education and Training (260 females or 14.9%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (227 females or 13.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 893 females in total or 51.2% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, the City of Boroondara employed 21.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 13.8% in Education and Training; and 13.2% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Kew East and the City of Boroondara were:
