Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Shire of Ashburton in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Mining (1,480 males or 62.1%)
  • Construction (286 males or 12.0%)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (86 males or 3.6%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,852 males in total or 77.7% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Regional WA employed 17.3% in Mining; 13.7% in Construction; and 4.8% in Accommodation and Food Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of the Shire of Ashburton and Regional WA were:
