Dominant groups

In 2011, there were 2,744 people who caught public transport to work (train, bus, tram or ferry) in Shire of Ashburton, compared with 3,351 who drove in private vehicles (car – as driver, car – as passenger, motorbike, or truck).

Analysis of the method of travel to work of the residents in the Shire of Ashburton in 2011, compared to Regional WA, shows that 30.0% used public transport, while 36.6% used a private vehicle, compared with 6.4% and 63.9% respectively in Regional WA.

The major differences in persons between the method of travel to work of the Shire of Ashburton and Regional WA were:
