An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Douglas (S) in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Community and Personal Service Workers (930 people or 16.0%)
- Technicians and Trades Workers (927 people or 16.0%)
- Labourers (854 people or 14.7%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 2,711 people in total or 46.8% of the employed resident population.
In comparison, FNQROC region employed 14.1% in Community and Personal Service Workers; 14.6% in Technicians and Trades Workers; and 12.2% in Labourers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Douglas (S) and FNQROC region were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Labourers (14.7% compared to 12.2%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (16.0% compared to 14.1%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed as Professionals (12.6% compared to 17.9%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (9.6% compared to 11.3%)
