Analysis of the household/family types in FNQROC region in 2021 compared to Regional QLD shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a similar proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 22.1% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 10.9% were one-parent families, compared with 25.2% and 10.8% respectively for Regional QLD.
There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 24.4% compared to 23.4% in Regional QLD while the proportion of couples without children was 25.5% compared to 27.3% in Regional QLD.
The number of households in FNQROC region increased by 6,830 between 2016 and 2021.
