There were more female professionals in Planning area 2 in 2021 than any other occupation.

Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Planning area 2 in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (350 females or 25.7%)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (296 females or 21.7%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (249 females or 18.3%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 895 females in total or 65.6% of the employed female resident population.

In comparison, Greater Sydney employed 32.3% in Professionals; 13.3% in Community and Personal Service Workers; and 20.6% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Planning area 2 and Greater Sydney were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (21.7% compared to 13.3%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed as Sales Workers (12.2% compared to 9.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed as Professionals (25.7% compared to 32.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed as Managers (9.8% compared to 12.7%)

Emerging groups

The number of employed females in Planning area 2 increased by 203 between 2016 and 2021.

The largest changes in the occupations of female residents between 2016 and 2021 in Planning area 2 were for those employed as:

  • Professionals (+90 females)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (+61 females)
  • Managers (+53 females)
