There were more professionals in Planning area 3 in 2021 than any other occupation.

Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Planning area 3 in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (1,561 people or 17.9%)
  • Technicians and Trades Workers (1,522 people or 17.5%)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (1,346 people or 15.5%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 4,429 people in total or 50.9% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, Greenwell Point - Terara and Surrounds employed 14.6% in Professionals; 14.2% in Technicians and Trades Workers; and 10.5% in Community and Personal Service Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Planning area 3 and Greenwell Point - Terara and Surrounds were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (15.5% compared to 10.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed as Managers (11.9% compared to 18.0%)

The largest changes in the occupations of residents between 2016 and 2021 in Planning area 3 were for those employed as:

  • Professionals (+365 persons)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (+274 persons)
  • Managers (+243 persons)
  • Technicians and Trades Workers (+210 persons)
