Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Sanctuary Point in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (411 females or 29.0%)
  • Retail Trade (206 females or 14.5%)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (152 females or 10.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 769 females in total or 54.3% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Milton employed 18.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 14.2% in Retail Trade; and 12.5% in Accommodation and Food Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Sanctuary Point and Milton were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (29.0% compared to 18.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in professional, scientific and technical services (3.8% compared to 10.5%)
