Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Sanctuary Point in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (499 people or 17.7%)
  • Construction (355 people or 12.6%)
  • Retail Trade (352 people or 12.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,206 people in total or 42.9% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Coastal Mid employed 15.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 16.1% in Construction; and 8.2% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Sanctuary Point and Coastal Mid were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in public administration and safety (10.2% compared to 5.4%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in retail trade (12.5% compared to 8.2%)
