Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Planning area 3 in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Construction (984 males or 22.7%)
- Public Administration and Safety (650 males or 15.0%)
- Retail Trade (353 males or 8.1%)
In combination, these three industries employed 1,987 males in total or 45.8% of the total employed male resident population.
In comparison, the Milton-Ulladulla Structure Plan area employed 25.2% in Construction; 6.7% in Public Administration and Safety; and 10.3% in Retail Trade.
The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Planning area 3 and the Milton-Ulladulla Structure Plan area were:
- A larger percentage of males employed in public administration and safety (15.0% compared to 6.7%)
- A larger percentage of males employed in manufacturing (6.8% compared to 4.5%)
- A smaller percentage of males employed in accommodation and food services (7.8% compared to 10.9%)

The largest changes in the jobs held by the male resident population between 2016 and 2021 in Planning area 3 were for those employed in:
- Construction (+167 males)
- Accommodation and Food Services (+95 males)
- Public Administration and Safety (+83 males)
- Health Care and Social Assistance (+64 males)
