Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in North Nowra in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (498 people or 19.2%)
  • Construction (279 people or 10.8%)
  • Retail Trade (257 people or 9.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,034 people in total or 39.9% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Bega Valley Council area employed 16.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.2% in Construction; and 10.5% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of North Nowra and Bega Valley Council area were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in public administration and safety (9.6% compared to 5.8%)
