Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Planning area 5 in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (1,112 males or 25.8%)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (427 males or 9.9%)
  • Retail Trade (416 males or 9.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,955 males in total or 45.4% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Milton employed 25.3% in Construction; 6.1% in Accommodation and Food Services; and 9.9% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Planning area 5 and Milton were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in accommodation and food services (9.9% compared to 6.1%)
