Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Nowra in 2021 compared to the Milton-Ulladulla Structure Plan area shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 17.0% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 14.8% were one-parent families, compared with 19.4% and 10.3% respectively for the Milton-Ulladulla Structure Plan area.

There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 32.1% compared to 26.8% in the Milton-Ulladulla Structure Plan area while the proportion of couples without children was 21.5% compared to 33.5% in the Milton-Ulladulla Structure Plan area.
