Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of females in Shoalhaven City Council compared to Milton shows that there was a lower proportion of females who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 6.7% of the female population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 13.3% for Milton.

The major differences in the female age groups reporting a need for assistance in Berry and Surrounds and Milton were:

  • A smaller percentage of females aged 85 and over (47.7% compared to 86.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of females aged 80 to 84 (19.5% compared to 44.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of females aged 75 to 79 (13.0% compared to 20.0%)
