Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Pittwater Council area in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (4,046 people or 12.9%)
  • Construction (3,648 people or 11.7%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (3,599 people or 11.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 11,293 people in total or 36.1% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Northern Beaches Council area employed 14.3% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 9.5% in Construction; and 11.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Pittwater Council area and Northern Beaches Council area were:
