Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Narrabeen in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (480 people or 12.3%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (479 people or 12.3%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (475 people or 12.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,434 people in total or 36.7% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Northern Beaches Council area employed 9.5% in Construction; 14.3% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; and 11.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Narrabeen and Northern Beaches Council area were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in construction (12.3% compared to 9.5%)
