Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Gold Coast City in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (62,178 people or 20.4%)
  • Technicians and Trades Workers (43,364 people or 14.2%)
  • Managers (39,782 people or 13.0%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 145,324 people in total or 47.6% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, Division 14 employed 23.4% in Professionals; 14.7% in Technicians and Trades Workers; and 13.8% in Managers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Gold Coast City and Division 14 were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Sales Workers (10.5% compared to 9.1%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (12.6% compared to 11.5%)
