Dominant groups
Analysis of the qualifications of people in low income households in the G21 Region in 2021 compared to Regional VIC shows that there was a higher proportion of people in low income households holding formal qualifications (Bachelor or higher degree; Advanced Diploma or Diploma; or Vocational qualifications), and a lower proportion with no formal qualifications.
Overall, 38.8% of people in low income households aged 15 and over held educational qualifications, and 55.2% had no qualifications, compared with 35.8% and 57.5% respectively for Regional VIC.
The major differences between the qualifications held by people in low income households in G21 Region and Regional VIC are:
- A larger percentage of people with Bachelor or Higher degrees (10.5% compared to 8.3%)
- A larger percentage of people with Advanced Diploma or Diplomas (8.3% compared to 7.1%)
- A smaller percentage of people with No qualifications (55.2% compared to 57.5%)

The largest changes in the qualifications held by people in low income households in G21 Region between 2016 and 2021 were in those with:
