Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of people in the G21 Region compared to G21 Region shows that there was a similar proportion of people who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 6.5% of the population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 6.2% for G21 Region.

The major difference in the age groups reporting a need for assistance in the City of Greater Geelong and G21 Region is:

  • A larger percentage of persons aged 75 to 79 (16.2% compared to 15.1%)
