Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Cairns North in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (413 females or 31.6%)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (296 females or 22.7%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (155 females or 11.9%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 864 females in total or 66.2% of the employed female resident population.
In comparison, Yorkeys Knob employed 25.2% in Professionals; 21.9% in Community and Personal Service Workers; and 15.3% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Cairns North and Yorkeys Knob were:
- A larger percentage of females employed as Professionals (31.6% compared to 25.2%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (11.9% compared to 15.3%)
