Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Cairns North in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (413 females or 31.6%)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (296 females or 22.7%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (155 females or 11.9%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 864 females in total or 66.2% of the employed female resident population.

In comparison, Yorkeys Knob employed 25.2% in Professionals; 21.9% in Community and Personal Service Workers; and 15.3% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Cairns North and Yorkeys Knob were:
