Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Westcourt in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (287 people or 18.1%)
- Accommodation and Food Services (218 people or 13.7%)
- Retail Trade (144 people or 9.1%)
In combination, these three industries employed 649 people in total or 40.8% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, Cairns North employed 23.9% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 16.8% in Accommodation and Food Services; and 8.9% in Retail Trade.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Westcourt and Cairns North were:
