Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Kewarra Beach in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (275 males or 18.2%)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (145 males or 9.6%)
  • Public Administration and Safety (142 males or 9.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 562 males in total or 37.1% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Cairns employed 15.0% in Construction; 9.1% in Accommodation and Food Services; and 8.5% in Public Administration and Safety.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Kewarra Beach and Cairns were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in construction (18.2% compared to 15.0%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in health care and social assistance (6.7% compared to 8.8%)
