Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Smithfield in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (485 females or 27.7%)
  • Education and Training (259 females or 14.8%)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (218 females or 12.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 962 females in total or 54.9% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Westcourt employed 25.9% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.0% in Education and Training; and 14.5% in Accommodation and Food Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Smithfield and Westcourt were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in education and training (14.8% compared to 9.0%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in public administration and safety (7.1% compared to 5.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in administrative and support services (3.3% compared to 6.3%)
