Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Manoora in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (354 females or 29.0%)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (168 females or 13.8%)
  • Retail Trade (132 females or 10.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 654 females in total or 53.6% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Cairns employed 27.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.7% in Accommodation and Food Services; and 11.0% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Manoora and Cairns were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in accommodation and food services (13.8% compared to 10.7%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (29.0% compared to 27.2%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in administrative and support services (5.4% compared to 3.7%)
