Location and boundaries

Glenside - Eastwood is bounded by Greenhill Road in the north, Portrush Road in the east, Windsor Road, Flemington Street and a line running continuous of Flemington Street in the south, and Glen Osmond Road in the west.

Settlement history

Settlement of the area dates from the 1840s, with land used mainly for farming and grazing. Gradual growth took place in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Expansion continued during the interwar and post-war periods. The population increased from the early 1990s as new dwellings were added to the area, particularly from the Amber Woods estate on what was previously part of the Glenside Hospital. Growth slowed between 2001 and 2011 as fewer new dwellings were added.

Glenside - Eastwood is a residential area, with commercial areas along Greenhill Road and Glen Osmond Road.
