Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Benalla Rural City in 2016 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (813 people or 14.4%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (555 people or 9.8%)
  • Retail Trade (514 people or 9.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,882 people in total or 33.3% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Regional VIC employed 14.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 7.7% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; and 10.6% in Retail Trade.
