Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Bega District in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (486 people or 20.8%)
- Retail Trade (277 people or 11.8%)
- Manufacturing (236 people or 10.1%)

In comparison, Bega Valley Shire employed 16.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.5% in Retail Trade; and 6.6% in Manufacturing.
