Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Bega District in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (486 people or 20.8%)
  • Retail Trade (277 people or 11.8%)
  • Manufacturing (236 people or 10.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 999 people in total or 42.7% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Bega Valley Shire employed 16.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.5% in Retail Trade; and 6.6% in Manufacturing.
