Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Bega Valley Shire in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (2,391 people or 16.0%)
  • Retail Trade (1,567 people or 10.5%)
  • Construction (1,532 people or 10.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 5,490 people in total or 36.7% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Regional NSW employed 16.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.4% in Retail Trade; and 9.4% in Construction.
