An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Woollahra Municipal Council area in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (5,777 people or 20.5%)
- Financial and Insurance Services (3,803 people or 13.5%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance (3,165 people or 11.2%)
In combination, these three industries employed 12,745 people in total or 45.2% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, SSROC region employed 12.9% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 7.9% in Financial and Insurance Services; and 12.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Woollahra Municipal Council area and SSROC region were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed in professional, scientific and technical services (20.5% compared to 12.9%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed in financial and insurance services (13.5% compared to 7.9%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed in transport, postal and warehousing (1.9% compared to 4.9%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed in construction (4.3% compared to 7.3%)
