Analysis of the need for assistance of people in the Southern Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (SSROC) compared to Greater Sydney shows that there was a similar proportion of people who reported needing assistance with core activities.
Overall, 4.8% of the population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 5.2% for Greater Sydney.
The major difference in the age groups reporting a need for assistance in SSROC region and Greater Sydney is:
- A larger percentage of persons aged 80 to 84 (31.5% compared to 30.0%)
