Analysis of household income levels in Inner West Council area in 2021 compared to Sutherland Shire shows that there was a larger proportion of high income households (those earning $3,000 per week or more) and a lower proportion of low income households (those earning less than $800 per week).
Overall, 37.8% of the households earned a high income and 15.1% were low income households, compared with 35.1% and 15.9% respectively for Sutherland Shire.
The major differences between the household incomes of Inner West Council area and Sutherland Shire were:
- A larger percentage of households who earned $6,000 - $7,999 (6.9% compared to 4.9%)
- A larger percentage of households who earned $4,500 - $4,999 (8.0% compared to 6.1%)
- A larger percentage of households who earned $8,000 or more (2.7% compared to 1.6%)
- A smaller percentage of households who earned $2,500 - $2,999 (6.0% compared to 7.6%)
