Analysis of the share of the population attending educational institutions in SSROC region in 2021 compared to Burwood Council Area shows that there was a higher proportion attending primary school, a similar proportion attending secondary school, and a lower proportion engaged in tertiary level education.
Overall, 6.7% of the population were attending primary school, 5.5% of the population were attending secondary institutions, and 9.6% were learning at a tertiary level, compared with 5.2%, 5.1% and 14.4% respectively for Burwood Council Area.
The major differences between the share of the population attending learning institutions in SSROC region and Burwood Council Area were:
- A larger percentage of persons not attending (69.3% compared to 65.4%)
- A larger percentage of persons attending a primary school (any type) (6.7% compared to 5.2%)
- A smaller percentage of persons attending University (6.7% compared to 10.4%)
- A smaller percentage of persons attending 'other' tertiary institutes (1.5% compared to 2.9%)
