Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Coomera in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,375 people or 14.0%)
  • Retail Trade (1,243 people or 12.6%)
  • Construction (1,131 people or 11.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 3,749 people in total or 38.2% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Gold Coast City employed 15.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.4% in Retail Trade; and 11.4% in Construction.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Coomera and Gold Coast City were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in retail trade (12.6% compared to 10.4%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in manufacturing (6.6% compared to 5.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in education and training (6.8% compared to 8.3%)
