Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Rural South West in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (149 people or 14.3%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (112 people or 10.7%)
  • Retail Trade (106 people or 10.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 367 people in total or 35.2% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Byron Shire employed 14.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 3.3% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; and 9.8% in Retail Trade.
