An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Tweed Shire in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (7,891 people or 19.4%)
- Technicians and Trades Workers (6,272 people or 15.4%)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (5,740 people or 14.1%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 19,903 people in total or 48.9% of the employed resident population.
In comparison, North West Tweed - Tyalgum employed 15.4% in Professionals; 13.5% in Technicians and Trades Workers; and 11.8% in Community and Personal Service Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Tweed Shire and North West Tweed - Tyalgum were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Professionals (19.4% compared to 15.4%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (14.1% compared to 11.8%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed as Managers (12.2% compared to 18.4%)
