Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Tweed Shire in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (7,891 people or 19.4%)
  • Technicians and Trades Workers (6,272 people or 15.4%)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (5,740 people or 14.1%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 19,903 people in total or 48.9% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, North West Tweed - Tyalgum employed 15.4% in Professionals; 13.5% in Technicians and Trades Workers; and 11.8% in Community and Personal Service Workers.
