Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in South West Queensland ROC in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,217 females or 21.5%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (834 females or 14.7%)
  • Education and Training (793 females or 14.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,844 females in total or 50.3% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Regional QLD employed 24.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 2.9% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; and 13.3% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of South West Queensland ROC and Regional QLD were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (14.7% compared to 2.9%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in public administration and safety (7.7% compared to 4.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (21.5% compared to 24.5%)
