Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in City of Rockingham in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (5,606 males or 17.0%)
  • Mining (4,295 males or 13.0%)
  • Manufacturing (3,672 males or 11.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 13,573 males in total or 41.2% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Greater Perth employed 14.3% in Construction; 9.9% in Mining; and 7.4% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of the City of Rockingham and Greater Perth were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in public administration and safety (10.5% compared to 6.1%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in manufacturing (11.1% compared to 7.4%)
