Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in City of Rockingham in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (6,912 females or 23.0%)
  • Education and Training (4,286 females or 14.2%)
  • Retail Trade (4,005 females or 13.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 15,203 females in total or 50.5% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Greater Perth employed 23.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 13.6% in Education and Training; and 10.7% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of the City of Rockingham and Greater Perth were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in retail trade (13.3% compared to 10.7%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in public administration and safety (7.1% compared to 5.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in professional, scientific and technical services (3.9% compared to 7.0%)
