Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in South West Queensland ROC in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Managers (1,635 males or 27.2%)
  • Technicians and Trades Workers (1,194 males or 19.9%)
  • Labourers (1,047 males or 17.4%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 3,876 males in total or 64.4% of the employed male resident population.

In comparison, the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region employed 17.9% in Managers; 23.0% in Technicians and Trades Workers; and 15.7% in Labourers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of South West Queensland ROC and the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed as Managers (27.2% compared to 17.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed as Professionals (6.5% compared to 11.9%)
