The size of the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region's labour force in 2011 was 121,018, of which 38,203 were employed part-time and 74,638 were full time workers.

Analysis of the employment status (as a percentage of the labour force) in the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region in 2011 compared to Regional QLD shows that there was a higher proportion in employment, and a lower proportion unemployed.
