Dominant groups
Analysis of the household/family types in South West Queensland ROC in 2021 compared to the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 22.4% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 7.9% were one-parent families, compared with 24.8% and 10.4% respectively for the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region.
There were a similar proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 25.9% compared to 25.9% in the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region while the proportion of couples without children was 23.1% compared to 27.6% in the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region.
