Dominant groups
In 2021, there were 1,074 females who caught public transport to work (train, bus, tram or ferry) in Parramatta Ward, compared with 2,925 who drove in private vehicles (car – as driver, car – as passenger, motorbike, or truck).
Analysis of the method of travel to work of the female residents in Parramatta Ward in 2021, compared to Greater Western Sydney Region, shows that 9.9% used public transport, while 26.8% used a private vehicle, compared with 5.5% and 38.1% respectively in Greater Western Sydney Region.
The major differences in females between the method of travel to work of Parramatta Ward and Greater Western Sydney Region were:
- A larger percentage of females who worked at home (43.4% compared to 37.2%)
- A larger percentage of females who travelled by train (7.5% compared to 4.4%)
- A larger percentage of females who walked only (4.2% compared to 1.4%)
