Dominant groups
Analysis of the number of bedrooms in dwellings for Nepali speakers in the City of Parramatta in 2021 compared to Greater Sydney, shows that there was a higher proportion of Nepali speakers in dwellings with 2 bedrooms or less, and a lower proportion of dwellings with 4 or more bedrooms.
Overall, 70.2% of Nepali speakers were in dwellings with 2 bedrooms or less, and 5.4% in 4 or more bedroom dwellings, compared with 57.4% and 17.2% for Greater Sydney respectively.
The major differences between the number of bedrooms per dwelling Nepali speakers in the City of Parramatta and Greater Sydney were:
- A larger percentage of people in 2 bedrooms (64.4% compared to 52.6%)
- A smaller percentage of people in 4 bedrooms (3.8% compared to 13.9%)
- A smaller percentage of people in 5 bedrooms or more (1.6% compared to 3.3%)
- A smaller percentage of people in 3 bedrooms (22.4% compared to 23.8%)
