The Age Structure of the non-English speaking population in the City of Parramatta provides key insights into the level of demand for age based services and facilities such as child care, and language services. Non-English speaking populations may have a quite different age profile to the general population, for instance in a student area, they are likely to be younger, however an area which received a lot of post-war migration may have an older non-English speaking population, and perhaps many second-generation speakers.

Dominant groups
Analysis of the Gujarati speaking population in the City of Parramatta in 2021 compared to Greater Sydney shows that there was a lower proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a lower proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 19.1% of the Gujarati speaking population was aged between 0 and 14, and 2.9% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 23.9% and 5.2% respectively for Greater Sydney.
The major differences between the age groups of the Gujarati speaking population in the City of Parramatta and Greater Sydney were:
- A larger percentage of people aged 25 to 29 (19.3% compared to 9.0%)
- A larger percentage of people aged 30 to 34 (14.5% compared to 10.9%)
- A smaller percentage of people aged 35 to 39 (16.5% compared to 19.1%)
- A smaller percentage of people aged 40 to 44 (9.6% compared to 12.1%)
Emerging groups
From 2016 to 2021, City of Parramatta's Gujarati speaking population decreased by 553 people (11.3%). This represents an average annual population change of -2.37% per year over the period.
The largest changes in the age groups of the Gujarati speaking population in this area between 2016 and 2021 were in the age groups:
- 30 to 34 (-638 persons)
- 0 to 4 (-201 persons)
- 40 to 44 (+158 persons)
- 25 to 29 (+139 persons)
