Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Epping in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (1,423 males or 19.1%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services (810 males or 10.9%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (556 males or 7.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,789 males in total or 37.4% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Oatlands employed 13.4% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 4.3% in Financial and Insurance Services; and 9.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Epping and Oatlands were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in financial and insurance services (10.9% compared to 4.3%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (19.1% compared to 13.4%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in construction (6.6% compared to 16.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in retail trade (7.2% compared to 9.4%)
