Dominant groups

Analysis of the five year age groups of the City of Parramatta in 2021 compared to Sydney Olympic Park shows that there was a higher proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a higher proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 18.3% of the population was aged between 0 and 15, and 12.6% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 12.9% and 2.8% respectively for Sydney Olympic Park.

The major differences between the age structure of the City of Parramatta and Sydney Olympic Park were:

  • A larger percentage of persons aged 10 to 14 (5.5% compared to 1.8%)
